Born in Chicago, Illinois, Kalamazoo, Michigan Musical Artist/Singer-Songwriter/Content Creator Jonathan Wilson is full of talent and creativity. Jonathan has been making music since the age of nine and has been writing songs long before then. One could say music has resonated with him for quite some time. Growing up, Wilson was in a summer arts program that allowed him to explore the realms of music and get a feel for his own ability in genres he would later create projects and experiment with. Along the way, Wilson got a "good ear" for music teaching himself how to not only produce, engineer and record his own music but learn how to read music as well as play the piano and drums. When asked: "How did you first get into music?" Wilson responds: "My mother played A LOT of oldies and Motown growing up, ya know? Songs like Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding.. That song and songs like that are the foreground of r&b, soul, hip-hop and even rap. True emotion lie within those melodies, enough to eventually inspired me to write my own songs filled with inspiration and ammunition from my role models, mixed with my own feelings and unique sound." Wilson continues to write music and has been successful in both Rap/Hip-hop and R&B. Wilson released his successful "freshman rap tape" titled "Float With Me" in late 2015 with little to no marketing. "Float With Me" received quite the response with over 9,000 total plays. Following the release of his second mixtape titled "Second Wave" Jonathan states: "With this second mixtape I wanted to expose the world to not just one side of my talent (rapping) (which is what most of "Float With Me" consisted of) but all of my talent and tried my best to incorporate every element I could think of." Today, Wilson is working on promotion for his second upcoming album Highs & Lows along with several collaborative projects. Wilson currently obtains a Associates Degree from Western Michigan University in Electronic Business Marketing & Sales with dreams of being a Nomadic Content Creator/Creative Consultant. Wilson also owns 'Zoo 6ix Nine' a fashion curation brand focusing on several key elements in modern & vintage fashion.
